New and classical Pandora O pendant

 Comparison and review 

Without any question after its release the O symbol turn out to be one of Pandora's most successful products. The fact that it provides us with endless possibilities for combinations both with charms or in combination with other O symbols made it a must for every collection. The all silver O pendant was received with such a love from the audience that copies of it in Shine and Rose Gold were inevitable.

But Pandora didn't stop right there ... that favorite of ours has more room for growth and that is why this year it we can appreciate two more spins on the O pendant. The first one of them  made the classical O pendant shine with even brighter light thanks to the beautiful cubic zirconia added to it. The second design ... that second design has a completely new braiding - very different and very bubbly.

This bubbly O pendant  (399077C00) and the small classical O pendant (398296)  in my own collection inspired me to write that review. They are both so similar and yet so different.

Lets first start off with the similarities. The most obvious one is the clasp of the O pendant. Pandora created something so simple and elegant with the first heart shaped button clasp ... why changing up everyones favorite ?!

The back of the mechanism in both is marked with a Pandora sign.

And if you are wondering where did they hide the S295 and ALE marking  they are once again sadly hidden in the bale that holds the pendant on the necklace. A place very good for hiding and very bad for photographing. Whereas on the classical pendant we can rely on the oxidation to reveal that detail, the new pendant lacks any - it is perfectly polished.

The way that the open/close  mechanism still remains  the same. You have to press  the little heart-shaped button in order to push out the plate inside it and then the flattest part of the circle comes out.

 The first and the biggest difference of the two pendants is the braid that was used to build them up. The first and classical O pendant  is build on the design of the Moments snake chain bracelet. It is a perfect copy of that design, except that it states in place and won't lose its shape and form after some type.

As for the new pendant's design im not completely sure what inspired that  bubbles like design. It reminds me of the String of beads bracelet and Beads and Pave bracelet.  No matter which one was the inspiration i think it will compliment both of the designs.

To me those small  circles that form it look like small bubbles and those little bubbles form that one big soap bubble. I imagine all those small bubbles are the happy events in our life and they shape  our big life that  is the big bubble... but thats just my sentimental side talking.

The new O pendant and its braid seem to me a little bit more thin and elegant ... a little bit more famine. Those little bubbles as beautiful and delicate they are , they are also a perfect hiding place for the folding mechanism of the charm. If i didn't know there is one  of those on the pendant i would not be able to see it.

This more delicate outlook doesn't make the new O pendant less resistible to weight. The maximum of  charm that it can hold is exactly the same as to the classical design. They can both hold up to 3 charms. And this is how a full design  would look like...

I have to admit im not a fan of that design on this pendant. Although i really like this combinations of charms i find them too much for this O pendant. I think they are hiding away its beauty.So if i have to wear mine with charms i will always choose a simple design with only one dangle.

 Another favorite way of mine to style it is with another O pendant.

But my favorite way of wearing it remains like this ...

Thats right ... simple as that ... with just a  shorter  necklace and i am ready to go. This new O pendant in both sizes available ( small and medium) comes without chain.So this must be taken in consideration when buying if either for a gift or for yourself. I don't think it should be such  a big problem though as the bale  that holds it up  on the necklace is standard and it will fit any silver necklace (Pandora or not) or any leather necklace you have at home. The  bail is so big that the pendant can be also styled on a open bangle ... endless endless possibilities.

In conclusion i want to tell you that ever since i got it i have been wearing it almost every day experimenting  with designs and i have been loving it. Its a very delicate piece but at the same time is a piece that will not remain unnoticed. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is wondering if they should get it.
