Pandora Review

 The Nightmare before Christmas

Collaborations between Pandora and Disney always bring smiles to our faces... taking us back in the days when we were kids ... bringing up happy memories and making us dream again like we are 5 years old.

The topic of  this week's post will be one dream coming true ...

In the beginning of this October Pandora heard the prayers of The Nightmare before Christmas' fans and with their pre-winter collection they released a charm dedicated to that iconic Halloween movie. While this is not the first charm honoring this animation, all of the previous charms related to it were Disney parks exclusive charms. Making this one available to the masses promises huge success.

Ever since the moment i saw the charm  i knew i had to add it to my collection as The Nightmare before Christmas is a favorite animation of mine ever since my teenage years. I watch it still every year around Halloween time and still enjoy it as much. The fact that the charm is a limited edition and once the produced amount is gone it won't be restocked made me call up my store and order it right on the same day of the release.

For those who haven't seen the it, the movie tells the story of Jack Skellington, The pumpkin King and citizen of the town of Halloween. He and the other citizen of Halloween town are responsible for the organization of the celebration every year. Thats how live goes on there up until one year when that same old routine starts a craving for something new in Jack. He tries to escape his reality with a long walk in the forest and on that walk he discovers a circle of 7 threes. Each tree has a portal for one of the big holidays. The door that grabs his attention is of Christmas town. Once he sees the true joy and happiness of this magical town ...he falls in love with it. He finds it very unfair only for the citizens of Christmas town to be able to celebrate Christmas and this is how  he comes off with a plan to take over Christmas.

I won't spoil more ...after reading this post please consider watching it.

Lets get back to the charm now. Ever since i saw the sneak pics on The art of pandora blog i was charmed by it... but nothing can compere to the true joy i felt seeing it in person...seeing all the details... those amazing little details that will leave you breathless i promise!

Pandora had chosen  to make this charm  a dangle. This automatically is a plus for me as this makes it usable not only as a charm on a bracelet but as a part of a necklace design on a O-pendant or just on its own as a pendant.

The brand has not speared material and they have put all their affords to make the charm full of live and detail. Its dangling part consist of two circles.

The front part of the charm is an openwork portrait of Jack in his most famous posture.

This attention to the detail is breathtaking ... every tiny bit of his mouth ... the details of his bowtie...his fingers... his daring eyes looking straight into you ... like is asking you if you are ready to go on a adventure with him.

This amazing miniature is brought to the spot light even more thanks to the amazing enamel backdrop - the brightest full-moon  man have ever seen ...

A moon so bright that makes the deepest blue fade into amazing purple dream.

The back part of this enamel part is plain silver with no engraving.

But the absence of engraving here doesn't mean that there is nothing more this charm can offer. Its bail has so much to offer . This bail is the most detail bail that Pandora has ever made.Lets start off by pointing out the huge spider that has tied its web above Jack' s head waiting for its next victim...

I don't know about you but that big fat spider seem very realistic and scary to me...

One will think that detailed insect is enough detail on a such a small bail ... but the truth is that the charm doesn't stop to surprise us and as we turn around the charm we see the engraving ''What's this?''.

''What's this?'' exclaims Jack when he sees Christmas town its all its beauty for the first time.

What's this? What's this?
There's color everywhere
What's this?
There's white things in the air
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes
I must be dreaming
Wake up, Jack, this isn't fair
What's this?

The charm won't be so authentic without that line written all over it !

But this is not where we end with details. The charm has so much to surprise with. On the side of the bail where we usually find the Pandora sigh and S925 Ale marking we sport Zero - the ghost dog.

It seems to me that he is flying in order to catch the ALE letters.

Again in movement but on the other side of the bail we find the  three trick-or-treat children- Lock, Shock and Barrel. Those three masters of trick kids are Jack's choice for Santa's kidnappers.

They take their part with so much passion that they almost speared the world of Santa Clause by delivering him into the gamboling hands of the Boogieman.

And if that funny and different plot of the animation  and those amazing details on the charm didn't convince you to watch it, i don't know what will. I am ready to watch it right away and sing along with the characters of course with the my new favorite charm on my hand.Thank you,Pandora for one more charm that its not just beautiful but also tells the story  a whole movie !
